The Black Castle Helmershausen is a historic building in the Rhön in Thuringia. It is currently used as a nursing home.

The construction of the Black Castle Helmershausen took place in 1575, when the Lords of Erffa commissioned its building. The estate changed hands multiple times and was owned by the von Groß and von Wechmar families, among others. After the end of World War II in 1945, the then owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists. Today, the castle is renovated and owned by the municipality, serving as a facility for assisted living.
