The Palais served as a collegiate court, a widow's residence, and from 1792 as the inn "Zur goldenen Krone".

From Collegiate Court to Inn

Originally, the building was part of a larger collegiate complex. After the dissolution of the monastery, it was converted into a residence for widows of high-ranking officials. Its transformation into an inn marked a new chapter, making it a central meeting point in the city.
