History+

The origins of the monastery date back to the 14th century. After its destruction, the church was rebuilt in 1369 by order of Frederick V. From 1409, the newly founded Augustinian Canons used it as their monastic church. In the mid-15th century, the choir was extended by four bays with a 5/8-closure, which received a ribbed vault inside. The church tower, integrated into the nave on the west side, was built after 1388, with its uppermost floor housing the clock and belfry, and its onion dome added around 1773. An original bridal portal on the north side was replaced by a southern portal, as the northern area bordered the cloister.
