Town Fortification Dinkelsbühl - Rothenburger Gate
The Rothenburger Tor in Dinkelsbühl is a feature of the historic city fortifications and forms the northern access to the city center.
The origins of Dinkelsbühl's city fortifications date back to the early 13th century, when an initial complex was built. In 1372, an expansion of the defensive ring began, which was extended until the Thirty Years' War. The Rothenburger Tor itself was also erected in 1372 and is a five-story gate tower. In the late 16th century, it received its gable.
