Frickenhausen Town Fortification
Construction of the city wall began in 1468. In 1477, the Maintor (Main Gate) was erected. In 1483, the upper gate was built. In the 16th and 17th centuries, the city wall underwent repeated structural changes. In 1518, the lower gate was rebuilt and has since featured a Renaissance gable. In 1897, the Renaissance gable of the Mühlentor (Mill Gate) was destroyed in a fire.
