Frickenhausen Town Fortification

Construction of the town wall commenced in 1468. Just nine years later, in 1477, the Main Gate was completed, followed by the upper gate in 1483. Throughout the 16th and 17th centuries, the fortification underwent various structural modifications and expansions. A change was the reconstruction of the lower gate in 1518, which subsequently received a Renaissance gable. However, a fire in 1897 destroyed the Renaissance gable of the Mill Gate.
