The Anklamer Tor is a component of the former city fortifications of Friedland in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. As one of the preserved gates of the medieval defensive system, it once protected the northern access to the city.

History+

The structure, originally known as the Steintor, was built in the early 14th century and was the first of three city gates that completed Friedland's fortifications. It served to protect the northern access to the city. The complex once included a gate castle with an outer gate and curtain walls. In 1995, the Anklamer Tor underwent restoration.
