Town Fortification Laucha
Tradition has it that there was already a fortified settlement in the 13th century. During the Saxon Fratricidal War from 1447-1451, the city was burned down by Elector Frederick in 1447. Subsequently, the city wall was reinforced. The city wall had three city gates and up to ten towers. At the end of the 19th century, the mayor sold the city wall for demolition. Thanks to the objection of the rifle association, some parts of the city wall have been preserved to this day.
