City Wall Neubrandenburg-Friedländer Gate

The Friedländer Gate was built in the first half of the 14th century as part of the Neubrandenburg city fortifications. Designed as a gate castle, it spanned a length of 88 meters. During the Thirty Years' War, the gate experienced a siege when imperial troops under General Tilly stormed the city through a breach in the wall next to the gate and captured it from the city side. In the third quarter of the 15th century, the city-facing side of the main gate, including a polygonal stair tower, was rebuilt.
