Town Fortification Olpe
The Olpe town fortifications are a listed complex in Olpe in the district of Olpe (North Rhine-Westphalia).
The initial construction likely took place after the town fire of 1373. The walls and gates were largely demolished after the town fire of 1795. Remains of the rubble stone wall are preserved on the street "Auf der Mauer"; the round Hexenturm (Witches' Tower) forms the eastern end. The wall at Kurkölner Platz, including the round tower located there, was largely renewed between 1957 and 1961.
