Local government

The palace was built in the 15th and 16th centuries by the Lords of Haunsperg. In 1680, ownership changed to Maximilian Haidenthaller. In 1700, the palace was sold to the Diocese of Salzburg. From 1702, the palace served as the seat of an archiepiscopal caretaker.
