The Steinsches Schloss is a town castle in Nassau, Rhineland-Palatinate. It once served as the residence of the noble family vom Stein and is known as the birthplace of the Prussian reform minister Heinrich Friedrich Karl vom und zum Stein.

History+

The origins of the castle lie in a tithe farm, which was already owned by the vom Stein family in the 14th century. At the beginning of the Thirty Years' War, the family moved its main seat from the Steinsche Burg outside Nassau to this complex. The original farm was transformed and expanded into a castle. The main building in the late Renaissance style was completed in 1621. In 1755, two Baroque wings were added.
