Stockseehof Manor

The Stockseehof is first mentioned as early as 1543, demolished in 1793, and rebuilt in 1793.

The estate, originally a manor, was owned by various noble families throughout its history. In the 16th century, it belonged to the Rantzau family, one of the most influential noble families in Schleswig-Holstein. Later, it passed into the possession of the Ahlefeldt family and then the Holstein family.

In the 18th century, the Stockseehof was transformed into a modern agricultural estate. The old manor house was replaced by a new, more functional building. The estate's lands were expanded, and new farming methods were introduced.

The current main building of the Stockseehof dates from 1793 and is a prime example of late Baroque architecture. The two-story brick building with a hipped roof is characterized by its simple elegance and harmonious proportions.

The facade is structured by regularly arranged windows and a central entrance portal. The interior of the building has been preserved in its original state in many areas and impresses with its spacious rooms and valuable details, such as stucco ceilings and historical tiled stoves.

Today, the Stockseehof is still a privately owned estate and is managed as an agricultural enterprise. In addition to farming, the estate also offers various cultural events and is a popular destination for excursions.

The historic buildings and the picturesque landscape around the Stockseehof invite visitors to linger and explore. A special highlight is the annual Christmas market, which attracts numerous visitors from near and far.
