Stromburg Castle

The origins of Stromburg likely date back to the 11th century, with its first documented mention in 1056 when Count Bertolf adopted the castle's name. It is believed that these early references might pertain to an older complex on the Pfarrköpfchen. The confirmed existence of the current Stromburg is recorded from 1287. Under the castle's protection, the village of Stromberg developed. During the Thirty Years' War, the castle was conquered multiple times and ultimately destroyed on March 3, 1689, during the War of the Palatine Succession.
