Sturmfeder Castle

Municipal offices

The octagonal castle in the classical style was built in 1783 on the site of a late 13th-century moated castle by Knight Sturmfeder von Oppenweiler. Later, ownership passed to Franz Georg Freiherr von Sturmfeder.

The castle, now the town hall, is still located on an island, surrounded by a castle park, which was designed at the time by the famous garden architect Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell, the designer of the English Garden in Munich and the park grounds of Schwetzingen and Hohenheim.
