Tupay Castle

In the Jakomini district of Graz, Styria, Austria, stands the Tupay-Schlössl, a bourgeois villa. Built in the mid-19th century, it is distinguished by its Romantic Historicism architectural style.

The construction of the Tupay-Schlössl, originally known as Sterger-Villa, took place between 1850 and 1852. The client was the Graz court and judicial advocate Dr. Franz Sterger, with Professor Moritz Wappler serving as the architect. The villa became a meeting point for Graz lawyers. Following the Guldenkrach of 1873 and Sterger's withdrawal from the property, it passed into the possession of industrialist Eduard von Keil in 1880.
