The tower was built in the first half of the 14th century. Around 1424, a farm is mentioned for the first time in "Gissubel". Duke Ludwig of Bavaria handed it over to "Niklaß den Drugkatzen" as a fief in 1428. In 1469, his son took care of a renewed enfeoffment.
