Lower Castle Kuchenheim

The Lower Castle Kuchenheim is the remnant of a former moated castle on the Erftmühlenbach in the Kuchenheim district of Euskirchen (Lambertusstraße 15) in the Euskirchen district in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The moated castle, built on two islands directly on the Erftmühlenbach, was first mentioned in writing in 1482. The manor house, built of quarry stone, the main castle on the smaller island, was probably a residential tower and is now separated by the street from the former outer bailey with the gatehouse from 1573.
Only minor remains of the former castle complex bear witness today.
