Lower Castle Visegrád
The Lower Castle of Visegrád, also known as Plintenburg, is a historic fortification in Hungary that once formed a strategic link between the Upper Castle and the Danube. Its feature is the Solomon Tower.
History+
The origins of the Lower Castle date back to the 13th century, when the hexagonal Solomon Tower was erected as a central element. The complex, particularly the southern part of the tower, suffered destruction during the Ottoman wars. Restoration began in the 1870s but was protracted due to the two World Wars, finally being completed in the 1960s.

The Lower Castle of Visegrád is located in the town of Visegrád in Pest County, within the Közép-Magyarország (Central Hungary) region of Hungary. It stands at an elevation of approximately 137 meters above sea level.
