Lower Castle Lintach

The Lower Castle, with a spiral staircase in the tower and an oriel window, was inhabited for almost 300 years from 1625 by the old Franconian noble family of Lochner von Hüttenbach. The respective castle owners could choose the pastor for the parish from three priests through the right of patronage. The last clergyman appointed by this right was Pastor Pröls. When the castle burned down in 1931, this right was extinguished by the last noble Baron von Frauenberg. After the fire in 1931, the former manorial seat passed to a private individual from Lintach. The rebuilt part still bears witness to past splendor.
In 2002, Dr. Ulrich Schmid from Amberg acquired the Lower Castle and renovated it according to historical models. With its small park, it is more beautiful today than ever before.
