Lower Castle Untersiemau

The castle was built in the 13th century by the Knights of Siemau. In 1525, the castle was destroyed in the German Peasants' War and subsequently rebuilt. Until 1637, the castle was owned by the Schenken von Siemau. Afterwards, it passed to the Lords of Könitz. In 1780, a renovation took place, and from 1911-19, the castle was restored.
