Wildon Castle

The Freihaus, also called the Lower Castle, is a two-winged building, with 3 to 4 stories on the east and 2 to 3 stories on the west. The particularly richly designed west wing features a triangular pediment portal, dated 1660. Above the ground floor is a cornice, the upper floors have double pilasters, and on the first upper floor, between the pilasters, are empty figure niches with stucco crowning, and windows with wrought-iron grilles. On the east wing, on the 3rd and 4th floors, there are also double pilasters. The Lower Castle was renovated in 1937, a thorough restoration of the already poor structural condition took place in 1997, followed by the relocation of the old municipal office to the Lower Castle, as well as the establishment of a cultural center and museum.
