Unterschloss Adelsheim is a Baroque country house in Baden-Württemberg, built on the foundations of an older moated castle. It is situated in the town of Adelsheim.

History+

The origins of Unterschloss date back to 1298, when the Lords of Dürn built a moated castle on this site. The complex underwent several changes, including renovations in 1338, 1374, and 1573. A fire in 1733 completely destroyed the moated castle. Between 1734 and 1738, the current Baroque Unterschloss was erected in its place. The builder was Friedrich Leopold von Adelsheim, who commissioned the master builder Johann Jakob Rischer for its construction.
