History of the Building+
The palace was built from 1845 to 1853 on behalf of the Württemberg Crown Prince Karl (from 1864 King Karl I of Württemberg) as a summer residence by the architect Christian Friedrich Leins. During the Second World War, the building was severely damaged and subsequently rebuilt in a simplified manner. From 1950 to 2004, the palace served as the "Great Broadcasting Hall" of Südwestrundfunk. In 2007, the villa was sold to the Stuttgart financial investor Rudolf Häussler.
