The Villa Toscana in Gmunden, Upper Austria, is a residence built in the 19th century. Originally conceived as a princely domicile, it features extensive park grounds.

History+

The construction of Villa Toscana took place between 1870 and 1877 on an 88,000 m² site. It served as the residence for the exiled Grand Duchess of Tuscany, Maria Antonie of Naples-Sicily, who had left Florence in 1859 after her husband Leopold II abdicated as Grand Duke. Her youngest son, Johann Salvator of Austria-Tuscany, was significantly involved in the building plans.
