The Vogthaus was built from 1360 to 1379 as the town house of the Dukes of Teck. In 1543, it was rebuilt as the official residence for the Obervogt. In 1559, ownership transferred to Duke Christoph of Württemberg, in 1653 to Konrad Widerholt, and in 1681 to the city of Kirchheim.
