The palace was built in 1590 as a canon's residence. In 1775, it was modernized into the Domhof by the Princes of Oettingen-Wallerstein. From 1812, the palace served as a gymnasium, from 1829 as a cameral office, from 1910 as a water management office, and from 1995 as an outpost of the Neckar Water Directorate. Since 2005, the palace has been in private ownership.
