Alt Barenaue Water Castle is a water castle in Kalkriese in the municipality of Bramsche in the district of Osnabrück in Lower Saxony, Germany.

The lowland castle is located on a sand island in the Great Moor at the foot of the Kalkriese Mountain.

It was built in the 13th century by the Lords of Bar. The first documented mentions date from 1305 and 1341 ("castro dicto tor bernowe"). The owners moved to the newly built Neu Barenaue Castle around 1862.

Among the older buildings is the gatehouse from 1689 with an octagonal half-timbered tower in the upper part. Also noteworthy are the library and the old court linden tree. However, the complex with a residential building and stables can only be viewed from the outside.
