Dobitschen Water Castle, also known as Bachoff's Castle, is a historical structure in the Altenburger Land region of Thuringia. It represents the transition from a Baroque water castle to a later utilized estate.

History+

The origins of the Dobitschen manor date back to 1204, when Heinrich von Dobitschen had the local church built. After the Dobitschen family died out in the late 16th century, the property changed hands multiple times. A phase began in 1692 when Johann Friedrich I. Freiherr Bachoff von Echt acquired the castle. Under his aegis, a Baroque renovation or new construction took place in 1696.
