Weidach Castle
The Weidachschlössle is a listed patrician house in Kempten, built in the first half of the 16th century.
The building is located on the Iller and has a semicircular stair tower. It once served as a summer residence for patrician families of the imperial city. The four-story rectangular building with a gable on the east side served as a refuge outside the city walls during plague epidemics. Today, the formerly standalone and now dilapidated building is privately owned by the descendants of the painter Franz Weiss. Alongside the Haubenschloss and the Rotschlössle, it is one of the last buildings of its kind in Kempten. On the ground floor and first floor, the ceilings have barrel and cross vaults.
