The residential tower "Deutscher Kaiser" is a late Gothic structure in the old town of Koblenz. Originally built as a residential building, it now serves as a restaurant and is an element of the cityscape on the Moselle riverbank.

History+

Around 1490, Konrad von Lengenfeld, a Koblenz alderman and archiepiscopal mint master whose family had acquired citizenship in Koblenz in 1486, had this residential tower built. Initially known as the "Lengenfeld House," the building once stood directly on the city wall next to the Kornpforte. In the 19th century, it was converted into an inn named "Zum Deutschen Kaiser," which gave the tower its current name.
