The Issum Residential Tower, a former knight's residence, shapes the image of the Krefeld suburb of Linn. This listed tower, named after the Knights of Issum, is a landmark of the region.

History+

The Issum Tower was built in the 14th century as a Burgmannshaus, a small tower castle with associated courtyard buildings. Its first feudal lords were probably the Knights of Issum, who originated from Geldern. However, the first documented feudal tenant was Simon von Aldenbrüggen in 1430. Ownership changed hands among various Rhenish noble families, including the families of Brempt, Eyll, Preuth, von der Warth, von Nievenheim, and von Hallberg.
