Hohenbeilstein Castle, a historical structure on the southern edge of the Heilbronn district in Baden-Württemberg, is currently used as a restaurant and falconry.

History+

The origins of Hohenbeilstein Castle date back to the 11th century, with the oldest surviving architectural elements dating from the 13th century. Originally built by the Counts of Calw, the castle came into the possession of Württemberg in 1340. It was the scene of several sieges and destructions, including by rebellious peasants in 1525 and later by French troops during the War of the Palatine Succession between 1688 and 1697.
